"A Cry for Peace"
Look at the news in our world today,
More downs than ups on any occasion,
It is so chaotic, everyone wanting their way,
Each day countries have to worry about invasions.
No one seems to get along,
Always in a fight,
You can be told you don't belong,
Everyone thinks that they are right.
We weren't meant to act this way,
We should all get along,
When will we see this day?
We'll see it when we all realize we're wrong.
Disagreements about resources and land,
Arguments about trade,
When will we walk hand in hand,
When will we end this war we made?
Racial comments always being said to hurt one's soul,
When will we see the difference is in the skin,
When will we come together as a whole?
If we'd all work together we would all win!
Just because we don't wear the same attire,
Doesn't make one another better or worse,
It doesn't put you any higher,
When will we choose to end this curse?
Just because our eyes aren't all the same,
Doesn't mean someone can't see,
When will we stop this game,
When will we let things just be?
There is so much we could do together,
When will we open our eyes,
It doesn't matter what the weather,
This isn't a dream I fantasize.
Everyone will never all get along,
But we can do our part,
Make each other belong,
Have a loving heart.
God made us all equal and gave us a spirit,
When will we see we are doing wrong,
When will it be like God meant it?
Does it have to take so long?
This is a cry for peace,
The wars must end,
We have to make them cease,
Let's all try to be friends.
When you see someone in pain,
Don't think, I don't care,
When you act like that you don't gain,
Help them by being there.
We must start the end to this war now not then,
Because we have the power and ability,
To turn the loss to a win,
We can help each other be free.
