"I Thought"
Lord I come to you,
Can't you see the hunger inside?
I don't know what to do,
But I was told in you I could confide.
I know I haven't surrendered,
And given you my all,
I hope it hasn't hindered,
But I feel it's a constant fall.
I feel I'm all alone,
As if day is always night,
But then I was shown,
The power of your might.
I feel my boat is sinking in life's sea,
I thought I was the apple of your eye,
Can't you hear my plea?
Can't you hear my cry?
I don't understand my spirit,
I feel so weak,
I think I'm losing it,
I am so meek.
Lord I thought you'd always be there,
But I can't seem to find you,
I though't you'd be the one to care,
I thought you'd always be true.
Why don't I feel you here,
I thought you'd never leave,
Can't you feel me with cheer,
It's you I need to receive.
I thought you were there,
I just chose not you feel you,
I know it was you that cared,
I know I was the one that was untrue.
Lord, I will give you my all,
And you can use me,
Lord I know you hear me when I call,
I need your help to always see.
Thank you for being my stronghold,
And allowing me to cry,
With you I don't have to be bold,
With you I can touch the sky.
