"Dear Lord" Dear Lord I love to hear the story, Of you and your amazing love, You alone deserve my glory, Your touch is as gentle as a dove. Dear Lord, you know everything about me, Yet you love me the very same, With you I can always see, With you no prayer is lame. Dear Lord, you're the reason my hands raise, And you deserve so much more, You deserve nothing but praise, You touch people from shore to shore. Dear Lord, sometimes I sway and falter, But you are there to guide my way, You're the one who is with me at the alter, With you I'll always stay. Dear Lord, I cannot describe, Just how wonderful you are, No matter what, you don't subside, And in your eyes I'm your shining star. Dear Lord, I sometimes look for answers in the sky, And get frustrated when I cannot find them, I worry myself trying to figure out why, But then you pick me up when I get grim. Dear Lord, why is life so full of harm, And why do people always fight, Then you grab me by the arm, And tell me things will be all right. Dear Lord, I don't know why I seem to doubt, And never just leave it in your hands, When I feel there is no way out, It's then you let me know you understand. Dear Lord, I know I sometimes stumble and fall, But you are there to catch me, The times when I haven't given you my all, You've helped me out of my misery. Dear Lord, I just want to thank you, Thank you for a protective hedge, To you I promise to be true, This Lord, is my solid pledge. Dear Lord, I can't thank you enough, For all you've given me, You've helped me when times were "too tough," You've helped make me see. Dear Lord, I give my honor to you alone, And thank you for always being there, You are the one that's never gone, You are the one that always cares. by Lindsey Bates (HeavenSentAngel5@aol.com) 9-13-00
