"A Friend"
A friend is a person you can run to,
And call on day and night,
A friend is one who can help you make it through,
A friend will help calm your fright.
A friend is there no matter what comes along the way,
They are there when you have so many fears,
A friend is there for you on any day,
A friend will wipe away your tears.
A friend has an open heart,
And a mind set to help out,
A friend will never part,
And a friend will help you when you want to shout.
A friend is there to give you a hug when you need it,
A friend will cry with you,
A friend will lift your spirit,
A friend will see you through.
A friend will give you an extra hand,
And stand up for you,
A friend will help you out of life's "sinking sand,"
And a friend is never through.
A friend is always on your side,
Whether you're right or wrong,
A friend is someone to whom you can confide,
A friend will always stand strong.
A friend is your crying shoulder,
When times get rough,
A friend encourages you to be bolder,
With a friend you don't have to act tough.
A friend knows the worst things about you,
And yet they still care for you none the less,
A friend encourages you to just be "you,"
And they want you to be your best.
A friend is there always,
A friend will never leave,
A friend will brighten your days,
A friend is the best gift to receive!
